About
“Between Light and Shadow”
November 15, 2026, 6:00 p.m., Adam Mickiewicz University Auditorium in Poznań
We invite you to a unique concert as part of the 59th artistic season, during which music will evoke a remarkable range of emotions—from subtlety and lyricism to drama and deep reflection.
The evening will open with Edward Grieg’s “2 Nordic Melodies,” Op. 63, introducing the composer’s characteristic world of Scandinavian landscapes and moods.
Next, one of the most fascinating pianists—Lukas Debargue, renowned for his interpretations and exceptional artistic personality—will take the stage. The artist regularly performs at the world’s most prestigious concert venues, including the Philharmonie de Paris, Carnegie Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Musikverein in Vienna, and the Philharmonie Berlin. He will perform Miłosz Magin’s Piano Concerto No. 4—a composition rich in harmony, color, and melodious themes, featuring elements of Polish dances combined with the romantic expression that the composer admired in Chopin. It is a work full of energy, expressiveness, and the Polish composer’s unique musical language.
The evening will culminate with Gabriel Fauré’s “Requiem,” Op. 48, arranged by Agnieszka Duczmal and featuring Artur Janda—an outstanding bass-baritone and winner of two Fryderyk Awards in the categories “Outstanding Recording of Polish Music” and “Album of the Year—Early Music”— as well as the Adam Mickiewicz University Chamber Choir conducted by Krzysztof Szydzisz. The boy soprano parts will be performed by Gustaw Lehmann a chorister at the Jerzy Kurczewski Choral School in Poznań. Anna Duczmal-Mróz will take the conductor’s podium.
“Between Light and Shadow” is a meeting of two musical worlds—piano virtuosity and the chamber-like sound of an orchestra—with the poignant power of choral music. It is an evening in which light and shadow constantly intertwine, creating a space for emotion, reflection, and beauty. We invite you to a unique concert as part of the 59th artistic season of the Amadeus Polish Radio Chamber Orchestra.
